Today is Blue Monday, statistically, the most depressing day of the year. Cheer up with these anti-littering posters from Barceloneta Beach in Barcelona.

In September, I described this parade on Twitter: “Went to kick-off parade for Mercé festival last night. Featured dragons, giants, fire & some sort of large chicken.” The chicken is L’Àliga, the royal chicken of La Mercé. The next night, L’Àliga danced for the papier-maché king and queen of La Mercé.  My limited Catalan couldn’t get me any further than that.
